Ed has experienced the great, the bad, and the ugly sides of being a marginalized person within the indie romance publishing world. Ownvoices has been a hot topic in publishing and the wider world over the last few years. One highlight was co-presenting a speech on trans rights and personal experiences for the GMDC 2019 Charity Gala at the Troxy in London, UK, which can be viewed here. Having published over half a dozen MM/gay romance novels with trans and nonbinary main characters, with a particular focus on trans men as romance heroes, Ed is always interested in discussing the T! From gender identity terms (nonbinary or genderqueer?) to grammar (“transgender” and not “transgendered”), to more nuanced discussions of trans stereotypes and diverse experience, or discussing the growing trans romance niche, there are so many important conversations to be held! This includes personal experience with trans life and transition.
